SAFETY and the A695 in BLAYDON

Children cross this Major Road twice a day going and coming from school.

Poor positioning of the small crossing makes it dangerous and difficult to cross vision to the right is poor making it difficult to see traffic coming off the roundabout due to the almost blind bend and at peak times making it almost impossible to cross in safety.

Children can often be seen trying to cross this major road at a point further up the road.

The crossing is difficult to see by traffic due to the curve of the road and even more so in poor weather and the dark the lights blend in with the lights of the shopping center.

The road needs organizing better and a much more clear crossing built with better lights further up the road where a good field of vision would make it a clear and safe place to cross in it's present position it is not safe.

No major accidents have been reported in the past however with the increase in traffic due to the new Morrisons two Major accidents have happened in a couple of days.
